Witness Dev Diwali on the Ganga — lakhs of diyas across all 84 ghats, a fire show, a laser show and the evening Ganga Aarti, all from the water. Private and shared boats available.
Dev Diwali, also known as Dev Deepawali, arrives on Kartik Purnima — this year on 24 November 2026 — when Varanasi's ghats are covered end to end in diyas. Rather than picking one spot on the crowded steps, a boat lets you drift along that entire stretch of light, with a clear view of the fire show and laser show lighting up the ghats and sky.
Families, couples, groups of friends or solo travellers — everyone books the same way: tell us your group size and preferred boat, and our local team will confirm availability, boat type and pricing for the night.
Every ghat from Assi to Namo lit end to end with clay lamps.
Watch the ghat-side fire show from a clear spot on the river.
See the laser show light up the ghats and sky from the water.
The grand evening Aarti, included on Bajra and AC Cruise boats.
Dev Diwali has special per-person pricing (different from our regular per-boat rates). Choose your boat:

According to Hindu mythology, Dev Diwali marks the day Lord Shiva defeated the demon Tripurasura, freeing the three worlds from his tyranny. It is believed that to celebrate this victory, the Dev (gods) descended from the heavens to Kashi (Varanasi) and lit diyas along the ghats of the Ganga — giving the festival its name, Dev Deepawali, the "Diwali of the Gods."
The festival always falls on Kartik Purnima, the full moon night of the Hindu month of Kartik, exactly 15 days after Diwali. Every year, devotees and travellers gather at the ghats and on the river to witness Varanasi recreate that divine celebration.
Book by the seat (shared) or reserve the whole boat (private) on request.
